These are predictions I've run across in various articles, papers and videos.

 

 

1970 to 2010 - More than half the world's wildlife population killed off from habitat loss, etc. [Link]

 

2014 - Stress from man-made exploitation now 50% higher greater than nature can withstand [Link]

 

2016 - Too late to avoid 2-degree warming, per author Mark Lynas [Link]

 

2020 - African elephants extinct [Link]

2020 - Significant loss of Great Barrier Reef biodiversity, per 2007 SF Chronicle article [Link]

2020 - Rhinos extinct

2020 - 75-250 million Africans face starvation, malnutrition and lack of fresh water. [Link]

2020 - Yields from some African rain-fed agriculture reduced by half. [Link]

 

2025 - US to emit "25% to 28% less carbon then in 2005" by this year, per 2014 pledge. [Link]

2025 - America will collapse by this date, per Alfred McCoy, c. 2010. [Link]

 

2026 - Healthcare funds used up by diabetes pandemic

 

2030 - Water problems in southern and eastern Australia and New Zealand. [Link]

2030 - China to reach "peak emissions" by this date, per 2014 pledge [Link]

 

2033 - Possible 16-degree global temperature increase (hypothesized by Paul Beckwith, c. 2013) [Link]

 

2035 - Dmitry Orlov predicts collapse of U.S. Economy by this date at the latest.  [Link]

 

2037 - Melting of Himalyan glaciers begins flooding and rock avalanches, damaging river flow [Link]

 

2039 - Sam Carana predicts 10-degree warming [Link]

 

2040 - IPCC (in 2014 Report) predicts 3.5-degree warming

2040 - John Davies predicts runaway Greenhouse "will end most human life on Earth" [Link]

2040 - All European summers will be as hot or hotter than the 2003 heatwave that killed 10,000.  [Link]

 

2048 - Salt-water fish all extinct (per 2006 CBS News report on this study) [Link]

2050 - World oil reserves run out. [Link]

2050 - A billion people lack fresh water sources. [Link]

2050 - Pacific and Caribbean water sources insufficient. [Link]
